The Knot of Love – Borghetto sul Mincio
An eternal love

Borghetto sul Mincio is a fairytale village.
From the Visconti Bridge, your gaze embraces the village, its water mills resting on the river and the elegant Scaliger Castle rising on the hill. Here, among the gentle sound of flowing water and ancient stone, one of the most romantic love legends of the region was born.
Legend has it that, on a silent moonlit night, Captain Malco met Silvia, a beautiful water nymph, on the banks of the Mincio River. Emerging from the water like a dream, she looked into his eyes, and in that very moment a sudden, profound love was born — the kind that needs no words.
But true love often awakens envy. Silvia was accused of witchcraft by a young noblewoman who was also in love with the Captain.
Rather than give up on their love, Malco and Silvia chose to flee together into the waters of the Mincio, leaving behind only a golden silk handkerchief, tied in a knot as a symbol of their eternal devotion.
From this gesture a tradition was born: an ultra-thin pasta, rolled like silk and knotted like that handkerchief, created to tell a love story that still lives on today in the restaurants of Borghetto.
It is called The Knot of Love.
A moment of delight
While in Borghetto sul Mincio, stop at one of the many local restaurants and treat yourselves to the famous meat-filled tortellini known as the Knot of Love, or enjoy a refined selection of tortelli with creative fillings — from pumpkin to mountain cheeses, braised meats, caponata or codfish.
Among our favourite pasta makers is Remelli, located in the heart of the village near the church. For the most traditional version, we recommend Ristorante La Borsa.Catullus and Lesbia – Sirmione
Poetry and the sparks of love

Walking through Sirmione feels like stepping into a poem written on water.
Between medieval alleys, pale beaches and ruins overlooking the lake, love still seems to be whispered by the wind.
It is said that this is where Gaius Valerius Catullus withdrew to find comfort after his tormented love for Lesbia — a love made of burning passion, sharp words and deep wounds. A love capable of being pure joy and, at the same time, unbearable suffering.
Catullus loved her without measure, celebrating her in his most famous verses.
“Let us live, my Lesbia, and let us love,” he wrote.
And when love began to fracture, he left the world words that still speak of the fragility of feelings: “I hate and I love.” Just two words, yet they say everything.
Among the ruins of his villa overlooking the lake, the poet sought silence and consolation. Every step seems to preserve that story of desire, absence, jealousy and longing — a deeply human, imperfect love. Like so many loves that leave a lasting mark, especially in the most beautiful places.
A moment of well-being
If you find yourself in Sirmione, treat yourself to a break at Aquaria. Warm thermal waters embrace you with breathtaking views over Lake Garda and unforgettable sunsets. Between pools and whirlpools, it is the perfect place to regenerate and let go of every thought.
Chiaretto – The wine of a single night
A feeling as unique as love

In Valtenesi, on nights when the lake holds its breath and the vineyards listen to the silence, an enchantment takes shape — one made of patience and ancient gestures. Chiaretto is known as the wine of one night… or rather, four nights of watchful waiting for the winemakers.
Four grapes, four harvests, four fermentations. Each grape variety has its own time, its own rhythm, its own voice. The wine is born slowly, like a promise carefully kept, until the four rosés are gently blended into a single harmony, born of the land itself.
This secret is guarded by a unique climate known as the Mediterranean of the Alps. Here, mountains descend to meet the lake, freshness intertwines with softness, creating the perfect environment for the vine. It is here that Chiaretto finds its character.
Light and vertical, it does not close in on itself — it rises.
A surge of vitality, a wine that invites you to go beyond, to feel light, to be moved.
Like love.
Like a night you never forget.
