The MilanoCard Group, in collaboration with the Municipality of Desenzano and MedialArt, presents, from Monday 13 May to Sunday 20 October 2019 , Caravaggio Experience , an exploratory journey hosted in the setting of the Castle of Desenzano to discover the techniques, themes and secrets of one of the greatest innovators in the history of art.
Thanks to the direction of Stefano Fake, founder of The Fake Factory, a spectacular video installation will immerse the audience in fifty-eight works and in the life of Michelangelo Merisi through an all-encompassing initiative from an aesthetic point of view, but also emotional and sensorial. The visitors, for the duration of fifty minutes, will take part in a show made of projections, music and olfactory fragrances, in an iridescent and interactive experience of the work of art. Caravaggio's masterpieces, deconstructed and variously recomposed, can be admired in their entirety and in the most minute details thanks to a high-definition technology that returns clear and crystal-clear images, enhancing the colors, the lights and the smallest details. The public will experience an innovative way of use and the continuous flow of images offered will revive the works outside their frames.
The video installation is divided into sections and each of them will investigate a "Caravaggesque" theme: from the reconstruction of the light studies, to the analysis of the compositional processes, passing through the representation of nature and violence up to a virtual tour in the places of life of the painter. The world of Caravaggio will thus be reproposed in an original reading key through an original media contamination: an experience in which the extraordinary works of the master come to life by freeing themselves from the original medium to tell life, but also to children, and life the art of one of the most important painters in history.
After the success of the public recorded in Rome, Turin, Rimini and Mexico City, Caravaggio Experience is also presented at the Castello di Desenzano thanks to the contribution of the MilanoCard Group which with this new initiative confirms its willingness to offer the public a cultural proposal of high profile and at the same time a new experience that accompanies the less experienced to the knowledge of the great master.
