THE FLOATING PIERS

"It 's all physical, real. The wind, the sun, the time you have to live". Work on the installation by Lake Iseo: 200 thousand cubes of high density polyethylene, covered by 70 thousand square meters of sparkling orange fabric. And an exhibition in Brescia on projects related to water.

In Lake Iseo, Christo tells his latest project - "The Floating Piers" - which will see the light in this scene next summer (between June 18th and July 3rd, 2016: the longest day of the year). The Bulgarian-born artist who with his art and his wife Jeanne-Claude - who died in 2009 - astonished, passionate and sometimes annoyed the inner world, returns to Italy after 40 years to achieve a walk two kilometers on the mainland about two kilometers and the other (almost) three on a floating dock covered with 90 thousand square meters of canvas polyamide intense yellow color. A temporary structure that is expected will be enjoyed by 17,750 visitors at a time.
